2012 PENNANT SEASON

The 2012 Pennant Season is here at last. Despite all the recent inclement weather all games set down to play on Sunday went ahead. It was a case of Hail Fellows, Well Met and let's get on with it.
The "Illawarra" and "Junior Pennant teams had byes and should be well rested for their jousts in the coming weeks. There may be a few hiccoughs along the way for the Juniors as St Georges Basin are having difficulties in fielding a full complement of players necessary. Al we can say at this point is to do the best you can, even if it means grabbing a few players from neighbouring clubs that have no teams in the competition.
In the "B" Pennant games Port Kembla had a good win in Division I as did Jamberoo. In the "C" Pennant, Division I Port Kembla won and the other two games finished in draws, whilst in Division II Nowra, Links Shell Cove and Kiama all had wins.
In the White Horse Cup the good winners were Sussex Inlet in Division I and Shoalhaven Heads in Division II. The other games were all pretty close. There will be a lot of chasing going on for the rest of the season.
