PRIME7 90 HOLE TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The PRIME7 90 Hole Tournament finished on Friday 13th January. The Overall winner was Travis Smyth (St Michaels). He also won this event last year. He finished with a score of 345 which included the very good score of 66 at Wollongong. He won from David Woodall (St Georges Basin), who was in the Under 16 section of the tournament. David had a score of 359. The Nett winners were Beau Fraser (Kiama) with 344, winning from Thomas Day (Goulbur) on 345.

The Under 18 section was won by Ethan Blackwell (Macarthur Grange) with 365 from Ugo Ottogalli (Tina, New Caledonia) with 366. The Under 18 Nett winners were Mark Panopoulos (Nowra) with 349 from Nathan Hill (Antill Park) with a score of 353.

In the Under 16 section the gross winners were Ben Clapham (Mt Broughton) with a 369 from Daniel Reale (NSW) with a score of 380. The Nett winners in the Under 16s were Jack Kessell (Port Kembla) with 358 from Daniel Poposki (Wollongong) with a score of 359.

The Under 14s was won by the up and coming Jamie Krzyszczak (Links Shell Cove) who won comfortably with a score of 365 from Thomas Popovski (Port kembla who finished with a 404. The Nett winners in the Under 14s were Nelson Parlato (The Grange) who also won comfortably with a score of 323 from Jack Guthrie (Goulburn who scored 370.

The Girls Overall Champion was Natika Dunn (Links Shell Cove) who also won the event last year. This year she wore down Stefanie Hall (Port Kembla) with scores of 419 to 438. The Nett winners were Gabi Beohm (Kareela) who won from Zoer van Bergen (The Grange) with scores of 322 to 400. Zoe won second on a countback.

The first Challenge Shield Competition was played between the South West Sydney Academy and the Illawarra Academy, with the Illawarra being victorious by 1069 points to 1124.

There were fewer entries than we had over the last couple of years, but hopefully the economic situastion will improve and we will see more entries over the coming years. All golfers who came down to the Illawarra had a great week and enjoyed the event, especiall the team who came from the Far West under the guidance of Sharon Nott of the JNJGF.
