UP AND COMING
Monday 1st August, 2011
Travis Smyth has been travelling on the way up in golf. Since winning the Vic Burrows Scholarship earlier in the year he has been playing some great golf. He was Runner-up in the JNJGF Match Play Championships, won all his matches for the Port Kembla Junior team which won the Pennant this year
He was selected in the All Schools Championship held at Dubbo and then was selected in the Australian All Schools Championship in Adelaide. He also was selected to attend the JNJGF Talented Athlete Camp at Narrabeen and selected as Captain in the Junior team to play ACT-Monaro. He won both matches and the team won a resounding victory.
at the JNJGF State Age Championships he finished second in the Nett and tied for fifth in the Gross for the 16 year old boys. He was also asked to speak on the athletes behalf at the Shellharbour Mayoral Reception recently. We will hear a lot more about him as he progresses
